About us
Lithuanian academy of music and theatre student council is an organization uniting the academy’s students, with the goal of representing their interests in all major governing bodies of the academy, addressing relevant issues, and organizing events that strengthen and bring the student community closer together.
Members of the Student Council actively defend the rights of academy students, become members of the academy's governing bodies, contribute to improving the study environment, organize events and conferences, and develop and implement various projects. They also provide essential information about studies and cultural life both within and beyond the academy, as well as collaborate with students and organizations from other higher education institutions.

LMTA Student Union Structure
The activities of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre Student Union (LMTA SA) are based on the principles of democratic self-governance and volunteering. The organization's structure is designed to ensure the direct representation of students' interests and the effective implementation of projects.
Operational Committees:
The organization's goals are implemented through five specialized committees, whose work is coordinated by department heads:
Social and Academic Affairs Committee: Ensures the monitoring of study quality, provides consultations to students regarding scholarships and dormitories, and represents their interests in resolving academic disputes.
Public Relations Committee: Maintains relations with the Academy's administration and other institutions, and fosters community engagement.
Marketing Committee: Responsible for seeking sponsors, building partnerships, distributing LMTA merchandise, and managing the organization’s communication on social media.
Events Committee: Plans and implements cultural, entertainment, and educational projects for the Academy's students.
Klaipėda Faculty Affairs Committee: Ensures the representation of Klaipėda Faculty students and maintains a constant connection between the Vilnius and Klaipėda departments.
President: Leads the organization, represents students in the Academy’s governing bodies (the Rectorate, the Council, and the Senate), and signs cooperation and volunteering agreements.
Council: A collegial governing body that makes strategic decisions and approves the composition of committees and the candidacies of coordinators.
Revision Commission: An independent supervisory body that monitors activities and ensures the transparency and compliance of decisions with the statutes (bylaws).
The main force of the organization consists of volunteers – students who operate under voluntary activity agreements. Each volunteer chooses one of the committees and directly contributes to strengthening student self-governance, managing projects, and representation activities.
